The story of the leather sofa begins in 18th-century England, when master upholsterers first began using hand-tanned hides to create seating for aristocratic homes and gentlemen’s clubs. Leather was prized not only for its durability but also for its tactile richness a material that grew softer and more beautiful with every passing year.

As design evolved, so did craftsmanship. In the Victorian era, deep-buttoned chesterfields became symbols of refined living their tufted forms and rolled arms reflecting the era’s obsession with comfort and opulence. The 20th century brought a shift toward modern minimalism, where clean lines replaced ornamentation and leather took on a new identity sleek, sculptural, and effortlessly luxurious.

PROCESS AND CRAFT

Each frame is crafted from wood, kiln-dried for durability and strength. The joinery is reinforced by hand a nod to traditional carpentry that ensures longevity and structure. We layer high-density foam, feather fill, and premium webbing to create balanced comfort plush yet supportive.

Master upholsterers hand-stitch the panels with precision double-stitched seams, tailored corners, and subtle piping define Khenshu’s attention to detail. The leather is stretched, steamed, and fitted by hand for a seamless finish.

Edges are burnished, buttons and trims are custom-cast, and the final piece is polished with natural waxes that enhance the richness of the leather over time.

CARE

Dust your sofa weekly using a soft, dry cloth or a microfiber duster. For deeper cleaning, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and immediately dry with a clean towel never let moisture sit on the leather surface.

Apply a leather conditioner every 6–8 months to maintain suppleness and prevent cracking. Always test on a hidden area first and avoid products containing silicone or alcohol.

Keep your sofa away from direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators and air vents. Prolonged exposure can cause fading, dryness, and premature aging.

For spills, blot immediately with a soft cloth do not rub. Use a mild, leather-safe cleaner for stubborn marks. Never use harsh detergents, ammonia, or solvents.
